FAQS | Savur Outdoors

Are Savur Outdoor Products single-use only?

Not at all. One of the biggest advantages of the Savur system is that it’s completely reloadable—making it the only reusable gear recovery float on the market. How hard is it to install a Savur on my rod? It’s incredibly easy. No special tools required. Just watch the installation video below for a step-by-step walkthrough.

Will Savur products deploy if it rains or if I dip my rod in the water while landing a fish?

No. Savur products are equipped with a patented water-resistant system that only triggers at specific depths—around 4 feet in freshwater and 8–10 feet in saltwater. This prevents accidental deployment from rain or quick dips when landing fish. Note: While Savur floats are highly water-resistant, they are not fully waterproof. If left submerged for an extended period, they will deploy.

Do I need to remove the cork or EVA grip to install a Savur system?

Yes. Savur retrofits are designed to mount directly to the rod blank, replacing the butt end of a full or split grip. This ensures the most secure fit and allows the system to function and feel like part of the original handle.

Will modifying my rod to install Savur void the warranty?

Check with your rod’s manufacturer. Cutting or modifying your handle may affect warranty coverage depending on their policy.
